What We Believe

At Veil Church, our beliefs aren’t just theological statements—they’re the foundation for how we live, love, and build.

We believe that God’s Presence changes everything. That the Bible isn’t just informative—it’s transformative. That salvation isn’t about cleaning ourselves up but about being made new. That church isn’t a stage, a brand, or a platform—it’s a family table, where Jesus is the center and every person has a seat.

Our convictions are rooted in historic, orthodox Christianity—anchored in the Scriptures, affirmed by the early church, and expressed in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. We are animated by the Spirit’s work to bring life from the dead, and we joyfully confess Jesus Christ as Lord over all. Here, belief leads to belonging. Doctrine leads to discipleship. Truth gets passed around like bread at the table.

So whether you’re new to the faith or growing deeper in it, this page lays out what we hold to be true—not just in our heads, but in our hearts, homes, and households.

We invite you to explore—not just what we believe, but how those beliefs shape a people. A family. A church.

  • We believe the Bible is the very Word of God—breathed out by the Holy Spirit, without error in the original manuscripts, and completely trustworthy. It is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and life. It doesn’t just inform us; it transforms us.

    2 Timothy 3:16 • 2 Peter 1:21 • John 17:17 • Psalm 119:89

  • We believe in one eternal God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three distinct persons, one divine essence. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer. He has no rival, no equal, and no beginning. He is infinite in holiness, justice, and love.

    Deuteronomy 6:4 • Matthew 28:19 • John 1:1-3,14

  • God the Father rules over all things with wisdom and mercy. He adopts into His family all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ. He is not distant or disinterested—He is personal, good, and near to the brokenhearted.

    Psalm 103:13 • Matthew 6:26 • Ephesians 1:3–5

  • Jesus is the eternal Son of God—fully God, fully man. Born of a virgin, sinless in life, powerful in ministry, and crucified in our place. He rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will one day return in power and glory. He is the only Savior, the perfect King, and the Head of the Church.

    Colossians 1:15–20 • 2 Corinthians 5:21 • Hebrews 4:15 • Revelation 1:7

  • The Holy Spirit is the active presence of God in the world and in the believer. He convicts of sin, awakens faith, regenerates hearts, assures us of our adoption, and empowers us to live for Jesus. He gives gifts for ministry, unity for mission, and strength for everyday life.

    John 16:7–15 • Acts 1:8 • Romans 8:14–16

  • God created humanity in His image—male and female—to reflect His glory. Every person has dignity, value, and purpose from conception onward. But sin entered the world through Adam, and every human heart has been infected. We are not just broken—we are spiritually dead apart from Christ.

    Genesis 1:26–27 • Psalm 139:13–14 • Romans 5:12

  • All have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. But the good news is this: God saves sinners by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Jesus died in our place, rose from the grave, and offers forgiveness and new life to all who repent and believe. Salvation is not achieved—it is received.

    Ephesians 2:8–9 • Romans 3:23–26 • Titus 3:5–6

  • Salvation isn’t just forgiveness—it’s transformation. The Holy Spirit gives us new hearts, new desires, and new power to follow Jesus. Believers are justified before God, adopted as children, and called to live holy lives in joyful obedience.

    Galatians 2:20 • Ezekiel 36:26 • 1 Peter 1:23

  • We believe in the global Church—every believer in every place who is united by faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord—and in the local church, where that shared faith becomes visible and lived out. The Church isn’t a building or an event; it’s a people marked by worship, community, and mission. Jesus is the Head. We are His body.

When we gather each week, it’s primarily to worship God, and build up believers—to grow in our faith, be shaped by God’s Word, share in the sacraments, pray together, and encourage one another. As we’re equipped and sent, we carry the love and truth of Jesus into the world. Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples and advancing His Kingdom.

    Acts 2:42–47 • Matthew 28:19–20 • Colossians 1:18

  • Jesus instituted two sacraments for His Church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Both are special means of grace, through which God nourishes and strengthens His people.

Baptism is a sign and seal of our union with Christ—marking our entrance into the covenant community and testifying to the washing away of sin through His death and resurrection.

The Lord’s Supper is a covenant meal of remembrance and renewal, where, by faith, we spiritually partake of Christ and experience His real and nourishing presence. In this meal, we proclaim His death until He comes again.

    Romans 6:3–4 • Matthew 28:19 • 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

  • Jesus is coming again—personally, visibly, and victoriously. He will judge the living and the dead. The redeemed will enjoy eternal life in the renewed heavens and earth. The unrepentant will face eternal judgment. Until then, we live in hopeful urgency, proclaiming the gospel and practicing resurrection.

    Revelation 21:1–4 • Matthew 24:30–44 • John 14:3

  • We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant instituted by God, uniting one man and one woman in a lifelong, exclusive union. This design is not a cultural construct but a divine ordinance rooted in creation itself and affirmed by Jesus in the Gospels .

Marriage reflects the mystery of Christ and His Church and serves as the foundational context for family, discipleship, and human flourishing. As such, we uphold the historic, biblical understanding of marriage as a gift from God and a vital part of His good design for humanity.

Because God is the author of marriage, we affirm that no earthly authority has the right to redefine it. At Veil Church, we joyfully and unapologetically celebrate marriage as God intended: one man, one woman, for life—for His glory and our good.

    Genesis 2:24  • Matthew 19:4–6  •  Ephesians 5:31–32

  • We believe that family is God’s original design for formation, fruitfulness, and flourishing. From the beginning, God created the family—not government, schools, or even the church—as the foundational institution of society. In His wisdom, He placed children into households where love, discipline, faith, and identity are meant to be nurtured.

But behind every earthly family is a deeper truth: through the cross, God is forming a forever family. By grace, we are adopted as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ. This means that while our earthly families matter deeply, they ultimately point to the greater family of God—the Church—where every believer belongs.

In a world marked by confusion, brokenness, and cultural drift, we believe family is still God’s answer. As goes the family, so goes the future. We reject the lie that family is optional, replaceable, or outdated. Instead, we affirm that strong, gospel-shaped families are essential to generational discipleship and cultural renewal.

At Veil Church, we champion family as the training ground for joy, responsibility, and resilient faith—where marriage reflects the gospel, parents are the primary disciplers, and children are received as gifts, not burdens. Whether biological or spiritual, nuclear or extended, family is God’s idea. And every healthy home echoes the good news: that in Jesus, there’s room at the table and a place to belong.
