Brandon and Lanna both grew up in the Pacific Northwest but didn’t cross paths until 2008 when serving at the same church. They met in December 2008 and married seven months later. Not long after, children began arriving every 18 months or so. They now have four children: Isla, Sparrow, Blythe, and Aksel.

Brandon grew up volunteering in church and working on the jobsite as the son of a home-builder. He earned a business degree, planning to pursue Construction and Real Estate. The thought of full-time ministry had never crossed his mind. In 2008, he was asked to join the staff at his church full-time and run operations. He’s been in ministry ever since and done just about every job there is, except lead worship (for everyone’s benefit). His hobbies are whatever he can do with this kids, preferably outside, and he is always up for an adventure. To get him talking, a good place to start is sports or indie rock bands.

Lanna loves to study, learn, write, and teach, and Brandon affectionately calls her his “research department.” She earned a degree in International Political economy, wanting to know how the world works. Now she likes to study how God works in the world. You’ll most often find her with her kids, walking her dog, or with her nose in a book.

The Andersens moved to Arizona in 2016 to help plant what is now a large, thriving church in Scottsdale where Brandon served as the Executive Pastor. It was a great joy and honor to help launch a church in that community. In early 2024, both Brandon and Lanna felt God was calling their family to a new assignment and adventure in their own community, and they are thrilled to be launching Veil Church with their dear friends the Fines.
